    Basic Questions

    Hi All
Its been a LONG time since Ive ben on the forum (last Feb to be exact)
and hence a long time since ive had to do any backing up
I've just got number one son a PS2 - so OK i'm a little behind the rest of the universe. Just spent £40 on a game and am petrified he'll scratch it to death so...
    I have a Sony DVd Rw DW U 10A

I need to start from scratch (Excuse the punn) I would like to be advised what is the best (most REALIABLE) software to back up with. I'm not interested in speed, will back up at 1x if required but must be reliable.

    Also....
What DVD-R media. I bought some unbranded but have had poor results when backing up my P.C.

So come on guys (and ladies too), give me your thoughts.

    Thanks
    GAW121

Try dvd-decrypter (it's freeware too), ISO read and ISO write M8. It couldnt be easier. As to Media, a decent disk (Ritek etc) will do you fine.

Yep id go with ritek for ps2 as some ps2,s are really fuss as to what media they will take.

Personally when im backing up a ps2 game i use nero, or stomp record now max and just do a straight cd copy, works fine, i know all about damaging discs, i once bought 3 copies of need for speed on pc because i broke the first 2, £35 each, £105 for a game is a tad dear.

Stomp Record now max and ritek DVD-r's IMHO is the best combo for backing up ps2 games.

However you will need your Ps2 to be "Enhanced" before you can play them. This forum does not allow discussion of enhancing ps2's

My thanks to all for pointing me in the right direction.
I am aware of "enhancement" needs for the drive box
