XP Log on Problems!!

Hi

I have a bit of a problem with XP not logging on!

It boots to the log on screen, when i enter my password it all looks to boot fine
However
All i get is my background image, nothing else! Then the drivers for my Wacom Tablet boot and then i get nothing at all!

I can boot in safe mode (Thats how im writing this!) but when i try to boot normally i get the above problem.

Ive tried a system restore, removing programs that ive installed since last boot but nothing has worked yet

Can anyone help?

Sounds like it's hanging while trying to load something up.

U tried stripping the MSconfig in safemode yet?
Start > Run > MSconfig > Startup Tab
From there U can just disable all for starters then if it works U know it's a startup program and can always go back and reenable items U actually want loading.

U tried taking it back further with sys restore?

Right did wot you said and now i dont get anything past the Windows XP boot screen!

Should i keep all the sys32 files?

If it's XP (as U say) then there are no essential system files in MSconfig - so we should be able to strip out the lot.

Its ok got it sorted now, restored to a earlyer date cheers anyways
