Sharing backups, xbox to xbox

Hello all.

My first post.

My xbox is going into surgery at my friends house this weekend. He has already performed the surgery on his xbox and it was a success. So I'm trusting his steady soldiering hands with mine.

I asked him to transfer some of his backups on his xbox hdd to mine. He said he'd try, but honestly he admitted he's not sure if he can.

Two questions:

Can he link the two xbox's together and using ftp, transfer backups between the two xbox's, or does he have to upload to his pc, then upload to my xbox?

Is there a link to this procedure?

if he has a hub then you could transfer them usin the pc to control it all, otherwise you cant

yes you can, you can physically connect them either via a hub (or switch) with normal network leads or directly together with a crossover lead.
then make sure the ip addresses are different (but on the same subnet, ie 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3).
two programs you can use, either ftp_061 or (my favourite) xtoolbox_041. the way to do it is to run this on the box to receive the files and pull them to it, I can never get it to push from a box.

I actually find it quicker to go to PC then back to X though than that method anyway.

From X to X seems you get very very slow transfer rates.
