Speed cameras

I was driving down a road today where they have just put new speed cameras up in the last few months. I did basically about a consitent 40 wen it was in fact a 30 (I didn't know). Is there a set amount of time they will contact me in if they are going 2? Secondly, and more importantly, can I get done more than once on the same road. There were four cameras which I'm guessing pair up as 2 timing ones, will they attempt to do me more than once?

Any help greatly appreciated, worried about a ban here :s (6 nore points and I'm banned)

Yes, they have 14 days

Yes they can do, and will do unless you take it to court where a judge may decide an alternative to 2 fixed penalties.

i thought they had 28 days to contact you??

No, you have 28days to send back the NIP. But they have to get the NIP out to you within 14 days. Oh and make sure they send it at least first class. Otherwise if its sent second class just say you received it after the 14 days and noticed that it was second class. They cant prosecute you then and they will drop the case immediately once you tell them.

cheers 4 the help. So even though I committed the offence of being over the speed limit on that road once they can put points on for each section of road I was over the limit on?

what kind of cams were they mate? gatso's? specs?

if they are digital cameras you can get a ticket for each one you drive through.

if they are the older type that requires a film then its actualy possible that none of the cameras had film in (although unlikely), many of the roadside cameras that are not digital will flash you but do not contain a camera as the camera units are very expensive they tend to get moved from place to place.
