Movie exchange problem?

I have some movie's on another computer that I'd like to bring to my computer. I bring them over to my main computer and when I open them my screen automatically resets itself to the desktop and I lose all my icons in my taskbar.

At first I thought it was because both computers were using different versions of direct x. So I upgraded the other computer to direct x 9, but no help.

Now I'm thinking it could be that I use the Ace Multimedia Codec on this computer and not the other, can anyone think of any other thing I should look for. Basically everytime I go into my network places, and into the movie directory of the other computer, my desktop resets itself. It works perfectly fine in any other folder I'm sharing. I've transfered pictures and music without any problem.

Could do with a bit more information m8

What type of network Cabled or Wireless
What are the size / type of the files.

Also it sounds as though it's copying shortcuts not the actual files.
