Freeserve 1Mb/2Mb DSL????

Hey guys,

does anyone know if freeserve will be launching a 2mb DSL service? Everywhere I look, other ISP's are offer faster ADSL services, Freeserve appear to be lagging behind. if they don't get they're ar*e in gear, i really think I'll b dithcinng em. My year long 'commitment' to them is due to end in March 04. When I signed up with em, I bought my own hardware (DSL Modem), so it's not like I owe em anything. However, do they impose penalties for customers who ditch before they're 12 months is up?

Perhaps the best people to ask are Freeserve themselves.

Given that March is now only around the corner, it is probably not worth trying to break your 12 month contract (although I doubt Freeserve would put too much effort in to chasing you for the remaining time).

If I were you though, I would actually check that you can receive either 1Mbit or 2Mbit services before you move anywhere (just because you got 512k, it doesn't necessarily follow that you can have anything else as the rules are different).

i dunno if you know what freeserve are like, but it's like trting to get blood from a bloody stone, when askin em questions and stuff.

I have done the preliminary checks for 1/2mb dsl wwith bt, and everything seems ok, but i suppose i should wait till mar. hopefully by that time, i will have had a promotion.

You will probably find that if you ditch them they may suspend access but the adsl signal will still be on your line preventing you from going elsewhere as freeserve are the only ones who can ask bt wholesale to cease the adsl.
