Default HD's Not Found - PC Won't Boot!!!

Bro's been playing with the PC again,:arrgh:

Really starting to hate computers now!!

I been playing about with my desktop trying to use a laptop HD temporarily, but had no joy.
Stuck my HD's back in it, exactly as it was before (2 HD's to one IDE slot and 2 CD Drives to other slot).

Anyway, now the PC isn't finding the main (or both??) HD's.

I've checked all cables are back in as they were many times, but the bloody thing still dont wanna boot up, just the message:
    "Boot Failure
Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or insert Boot Media in selected boot device"

I have also left the BIOS settings on Auto for all drives and the CD DRives seem to load fine.

    Anyone got any suggestions pls?

    Cheers

Checked the IDE cables and jumper settings on the rear of the HDDs?

This is just typical, I have no idea what was done differently this time, but for some reason it magically started working this time round!!
Lets hope it dont **** up on next boot again!

Thanks for all your help guys.

    Just a sugestion.

I would have 1 HD and 1 cd on each IDE cable. That way you can copy CD's on the fly much quicker and copy from CD to HD faster too as each IDE port can only talk to 1 device at a time.
