Looks good, I'll have a proper look later.
Flash when its done well is worth looking at, when its done poorly, as in this case it adds nothing to a site and even makes me feel like moving straight on.
So, I'd drop the flash for a start. As for the rest of the site, looks ok, if a little unispiring, lots of information which is always good, some of the images look very blurry and don;t seem to be in any way related to the text, if they are there just to break up the text, get some better images.
All in all, ok but nothing special.
great apart from the flash intro. think about it - have you ever wanted to watch one of those on someone elses site? if you have then your opinion is wrong.
i also agree that the images look a bit random, but they are not too bad

Thanks for the comments so far, i quite like the flash intro, its purpose is to grab someones attention. Although i do confess it is not my best flash work.
The images in some parts are generally random, that was the intended purpose. I tried to conciously embrace a multi ethnic, cross religious/cosmopolitan ideal. "Equality" in one word representing all cross sections of society.
i took a subjective view when creating this and rather than creating something that i/we wanted we tried to put across what the potential client community would be looking for.
It has been created for proffesional organisations (public & private)who need advice on employment law/legislation, equalities at work, discrimination at work and training. its target audience would be HR people.
The reason i am personally proud, is that the host we ended up subscribing to did not allow 3rd party authoring tools. ( i'll confess to being a devotee of dreamweaver, makes it so much easier/quicker) anyway i had to use there crappy software combined with html etc.
It was shown at the local network CBI seminar, which was very positive, although they recommended expansion which is what i am planning to do in the new year.
Thanks for the comments so far, keep them coming positive or negative.
Thanks

Just one question m8, do you do this for a living?Originally Posted by ACID
As for Dreamweaver being faster, easier to use, it is for people who don't know raw HTML and Javascript.
As for creating a site aimed at your target audeince m8, thats a given, and I would be far from proud using a host who insisted I use their tools to build my site. :|
The content is well laid out but the look... feels like something that has been thrown together using a tool like the abysmal "oneandone.co.uk" web site creator.
I'd loose the flash intro as well... think about how many you've pressed "skip intro" on.
Also why "Weiter" on the flash intro ??..... An english site with german language on the intro ???
you really need to not have that flash intro

look at the higligted words in that quote. they state that the purpose is for ADVICE and that it is designed for PEOPLE.
people seeking advice want to get advice. not flash intros.
if you were seeking advice and someone presented you with a stupid little cartoon with german words on them then would you honestly trust what they said?
i think not.
GET RID OF FLASH!!!!!
the intro looks like it has been made with some sort of automatic tool. weiter means further, as in go further into the site, implying that you used a german flash automatic thing to make the intro. this just looks downright bad.
other than that, as i said before, great site.

PS. You may notice that i used no smileys in this post. i am being very serious for once.

do i do this for a living?. No i do something completely different for a living, this has become a hobby something that i enjoy doing.
The host was chosen by the person i did it for, the overriding reason probably being cost.
this has been a great learning curve for me, infact i am hoping to be starting another site in feb.
any other comments regarding the "site" would be welcome.
Stick to the day job m8.............. :thumbsOriginally Posted by ACID

the intro should show "continue" in different languages, obviously not. i was thinking of changing it to welcome in different languages. i'll let her make that decision, get rid of or change it. I suspect that she is going to want to change it.
thanks for being serious
thanks m8 i was expecting that from you :tongueOriginally Posted by CzarJunkie

if she wants to keep that stupid intro then she deserves a punch tbh
you could get pangrs squaddies to help you out :oops
Mate if you're with oneandone on the £2.99pm package for the cost alone. I'd ditch it right now.
There's far better out there for much lower cost.. Credit goes to WTD for pointing out the following host to me: http://www.34sp.com
It's the dogs danglies for only £15 pa.....
Oh... and loose the flash intro
it was oneandone, and they are a load of shite. she has managed to get some good interpreting work from this so she might change.Originally Posted by pingobingo
