    Default vers. 9 goosed laser

    yes only 2 weeks and goosed already,is my best bet to take doo dah out
    and return to sony ?

    yeah, see if you can get away with it, if not they will replace it with a reconditioned model for your old ps2 and £65.

    I know its a bit of a twat having to pay more cash, but if its your only option then its cheaper than a new one

    they will replace it, just say u bought it off a friend or its your phone nervous cousins or somethin

    this is very common with modded V9s so i doubt youll be the first to try it

    Can't you just take it back to the shop you bought it from and swop it for a new one? They are obliged to change it if it's within the gaurantee.

    dont bother tryin to do v9 ps2's mate, ive heard theynot very good for it

    try and getya self a second hand one thats a bit older

    best bet

    The problem is the heatsink on the lasers.. sony rushed some through and this caused em to knacker up after a while..

    phone up sony, tell them you bought it of advert in shop window, now it aint working..

    i did this, they came and swapped it no probs.. have you got a receipt.

    another way is 2 go and buy one from woolworths, have yours in the car, run back, swap consoles, go back to shop in 30 mins with receipt and say your girlfriend bought one earlier in the day...

    either way works...TRUST ME I KNOW!!!!

    its not the doodahs, it sonys cockup...

    if you get it done again, ask whoever does it to check the heatsinks...

    enuf talk of doo dahs already... jeez we all know theyre MODs and thats BANNED

    the v9 has an eeprom which controls the laser, these die alot.
