As for Orthodox Xmas, it starts on the night of the 6th Jan where you aren't allowed to eat any meat but can pig out on fish and nuts and stuff, then on the 7th you can go for it with the pork life. The whole thing is much more religious and less about presents than in the West though.
In Czech we also give presents on December 5th (St Mikulas day).
So by being a Brit in Czech Rep with a Ukrainian g/f I get to celebrate Xmas 4 times! (5th, 24th, 25th Dec and 7th Jan!)

sounds good to me! The Japanese don't really christmas.... but they celebrate New Years, which is extreamly important. The big shrines here make about 300 million yen+ over the new years period...
