OPpend X Box from Pawn shop

Hi ,I recently saw an Xbox from a pawn shop I wanted to Buy it except that it has been opened so I don't know weither it would be wise to buy it or wait untill I find and unopen one? also If it has been modded alredy would it be possible to realter it ?what if I don't like that chip that's in it right now? can i replace it with a different one?

get the guy to plug it in and show you it working .

yes you can replace the chip.

If your lucky itll have a Samsung dvd drive in it too which are highly saught after. (check sticky for photo )

depends how much he wants for it too, ive seen em S/H in game for 100 quid but since a new one is �120 i think your better paying the 20 quid
i bought 3 new yesterday and they all had samsung drives aswell

I see that every one is talking about samsung drive can some one tell me what's so good about samsung drive? and how can you tell if one System has it?

it plays almost all cds and dvd media unlike the Thompson or philips drives.
look in this section sticky for photos of them all , samsung has three big wholes in the tray.

uptp xmas the 4 game packs seemed to all have samsung in, then after xmas they seemed to disapear, this week i bought 3 of the packs with just the console alone and they had the sammy drives, i think its a bit of luck really.
they are good drives, i dont really see the great apeal of readaing cdr but theyre fast n quier(er) than the other 2 types
Ive found alot of thomson drives are dying now too
