Soldering iron..Which one.

O.k. I need to take the atmels out, which iron/gun do i have to buy?
Read a thread on here which says to use those tweezer irons? £50 with tips..
Hopefully going to be a one off, so could i use a 15w from Ebay 1mm tip, or would that risk :censored the the box up...?

if your are a n00bie at soldering best bet is use to hot air station, problem is they cost £100 and above
does take alot of practice to perfect the technique, and much harder witha soldering iron.
i would acyually use a wider tip, good quality solder braid and good flux

any old iron will do as long as it get's hot enough don't waste your money on expensive re-work station's if you are not gonna use it all the time i borrowed one the other week and ended up using my old iron cos i couldn't get it to work as well as i was used to with my old iron just don't leave the heat on for too long and don't press hard on the leg's or you will have pad's floating all over the show. practise first on sommit else cos you can only get so many go's at the chip's.

i use a iroda micro-jet takes refill lighters 9.99 from maplins works a treat get the no clean flux pen aswell 4.99.i can takew out and refit in 2 mins if ams r ready,,,got to be said its a doddle...get yourself an eye loop like a jewller would use £1 from maplins and your away
