Imrpeza Variable Boost Valve

I Have Just Bought A 96 Turbo 2000 (uk Model). I Have Installed A Boost Gauge And Was About To Install A Manual Boost Valve When Somebody Said If I Did So My Car Would Go Bang No Matter What Psi I Set It At (i Was Thinking 15-16 Psi). This Somebody Was A Retailer And Then Tried To Sell Me The £300 Option Of A Digital One. Can Anyone Shed Any Light Upon This For Me?
If The Manual Boost Is Ok What Is The Max Psi It Can Whithstand (day To Day Driving)?

In theory you could run it at 15psi , but it will do the engine no favours whatsoever in my opinion m8.
Unfortunately the Imprezza sufferes from a weak bottom end and the side of the block would eventually end up with a great hole in it.

Have a look over scoobynet m8 theres some right idiots on their at times but between them their is some top guys who know scoobies inside out , and will be able to give you better advise on it then myself.
