    Default Upgrading dash & bios

    Hi guys

I'm currently running Slayers 2.5 dash (A version of 3921) and the M7 bios. I want to upgrade to the latest Evox dash and Xecuter bios but not sure how I do it.

I think I need to do the Evox first as once I get the new Evox I would have an option to upgrade the bios which is missing on the Slayers.

    Cheers
    Jim

If you FTP your selected bios image in c:\bios or e:\bios (dependant upon your curent setup) you should be able to flash the bios thru' your current evox. My option to flash is in System Settings but I used another installer not Slayer's.

You'll also have to check whether your bios is flash protected (again depending on your choice of modchip).

You can also run a flasher right off a cd-rw. Head on over to xbox-scene tutorials section for all the info you need.

Evox can also be simply FTP'd across from your PC. No real need to install from a disc.

Cheers Chizh, but I don't have an option for flashing under System Settings, presumably because it is a slayers install.

Can you confirm that all I need to do is overwrite the current Evox files on the hardrive with the latest ones I've download and that will that allow me to boot up with the latest Evox. I can then access the flash program.

    Thanks
    Jim

Im still running 3921 too , use my ini then you can flash your bios .

Just make sure you change the IP settings to your own Ip numbers when trying to access per ftp.

Glad the flash went well. Should have told you to go to Management not settings tho' - thx 4me2 :thumbs

Can confirm overwriting evox worked for me, so there's no reason it shouldn't work for anyone else. FTP it across and then reboot. Don't FTP everything tho' as you only need the xbe.

I'm in the same situation, have 4980.06_256k.bin bios and just got the Flash option thanks to 4me2 :thumbs , but was wondering if I need to alter the size of the BIOS file before attempting to flash? The tuts I've read suggest that I alter it to a 1MB file. What do you guys say?
    TIA

you only need to alter the bios size if you have an old v1 xbox and you arnt flashing with evox, if u have a 256k bios and u try to flash a 1meg chip with evox it will sort it out for u

also in evox if the option is not there to flash bios, check your .ini file and make sure it is not edited out with the # before it.(if it is it will not show just remove the # to make it show)
