Default loss of signal on USB modem

Just had BB connected (Pipex), but the signal appears to be hit and miss, flashing green LED on USB 'speedtouch' Modem, I had to un-plug all the phones for it to work but it still looses sync now and again. Can I get the BT line boosted or is there likely to be some other problem like wiring in the Master telephone socket or the extensions.

    Thanks in advance.

    Take a look at: http://www.adslguide.org

Theres a load of posts regarding the same problem. I dont think its as simple as boosting the signal on the line, it depends on other things like noise etc. It seems like your just in range of BB anyway, especially if you have to unplug your other phones to get it to work in the first place.

You might already know this but you are supposed to have an ADSL filter for each extension on the line that you have ADSL on, otherwise things might behave oddly.

Thanks for the advice, but I have managed to fix it. The problem comes when the orange wire of the telephone socket is connected it goes to the extention sockets, when disconnected everything is ok, it seems to be creating noise on the line. Fortunately the wire does'nt seem to do much on modern phones.
