Can't say I have ever backed up an out of the box original. Anybody else?
Me neither it`s just that with the boot protection of the hardware then surely the software is clear

I will confirm later, as I am going to be backing up an original title as I can't find a rip\iso anywhere.
I've backed up plenty of original titles and they work no problem.
I believe EA games have something on them but even those work with my console

I have just backed up about 10 ps2 games straight from dvd using dvd Decrypter.
All work fine with PS2 :oops

@ Shadowdancer and David B: Edit your posts guys - no mod chat !
I've "backed-up" a few PS2 originals games with no probs whatsoever using NERO and DVDDecrypter. All direct boot fine for me on my PS2.
Talking about "modchip's" is against the rule's fella... Feel free to talk about backing up games, just not the little piece of genius that help's play them.Originally Posted by David B

How else would you get hold of the games to copy them? i.e. buy, rent or borrow means having an original available.Originally Posted by Kryptonite
It would signal the end of getting the Early US releases in europe before they are in the shops. Unless you imported from the US.
Doesn't everyone just download the images to save £3.75 in the video shop?
I certainly do.
