n00b few questions

I'm a complete n00b to XBox and Ive crammed my head with info tonight. I've read numerous FAQs and tuts and learnt a lot. There are a few things I'm still not clear on though and I will get sick if I read another tutorial. So please excuse my posting such basic questions.

I'm pretty sure I've got an Xecuter2, I need to flash the bios to update it right, but is it worthwhile and what benefits will I get (I read the latest bios' guarantee that you don't have to patch games)?

Looking at a tut here ( http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.p...&f=18&t=105495) it says the guide is only for x2's but then refers to me seeing a cromwell screen show up, whats that all about?

Am I right in thinking you flash the bios with one cd you make (which purely has the 1mb bios.bin and a dummy file) and then run a dashboard off cd-rw which was made into an iso (until you put your own dashboard on the hard drive).

Am I better to do the above evox disk and flash from there?!?

Sorry about the n00b questions but I can't take any more tutorials, they're fine until you don't understand something. Cheers for any help.

how long have you had a modchip in your system?

can you currently play backups?

I would reccomend using Slayers autoinstall disc - this will set up a dashboard(evox) as well as the most basic applications

you can use slayers if you like, or just get evox and burn it to a cd with the bios' you wanna use in the bios folder.
I think the latest slayers has X2 bios upto 4978 with is good enough for anyone.
the stuff about cromwell is if you have bought a brand new chip so ignore that

if you get slayers you can also make use of the bios checker util thats on there too to see what mod you do actually have

u may already have the 4977 bios on, and thats good enough for anyone, so dont worry bout flashin it just yet

we cant really tell u where to get slayers as its classed as warez.

search on xbox scene for ftp guides, installing evox guides, get that sorted and your set

no u dont, but you should read up about flashing your x2 on the xecuter site, links have been poosted on here in other posts today

like i said before tho, u dont need to update you bios to use evox, so just run the mod chip/bios checker thats on slayers first and see what bios is on

if it aint broke.....
