    Default Hard Drive Temprature Problem

I've had 2 hard drives in my system for 6 months (maxtor 40Gb 7200 & Segate 60Gb) positioned one just above the other and its been fine till recently, i'd find that the system would get very slugish then lock-up & the hard drive would make strange noices so i'd have to reboot.

I thought i'd check the temp of the Segate using SIGuardion v1.7 and its running at arroung 48c its worst temp was 55c (not good i think)

I've now ordered a hard drive cooler so hopefully that will stop my drive from packing up anytime soon hopefully.

Just wondering what temps other peoples drives have been running at and are there any more ways to keep them cooler without to much noice.

    Thanks

this is right on the summer heat wave my hard drive temp was clocking to 4oc and started freezing in bios. I installed a fan its then ok.
Most cases have a slot to cool hard drives fit a fan in.
