TiVO without the fees

As per title, can this is be done in the UK? I've seen instructions to do this on Austrialian, Canadian and American Tivos and was wondering if anyone had any instructions on how to do it.

Yes it is possible - no we will not discuss it here. (It's VERY illegal)

Uses the same technique that AusTivo use. It's a lot of hard work and not worth it in my opinion. I looked into it just to see how it could be done and the data you collect from web scraping is never as good or accurate as TiVos guides.

The only reason it is happening in Oz and Canada etc is because there is no TiVo service in those countries. If TiVo decided to release a box in those countries the web sites with the info on at the moment would dissapear real quick.

I just paid the lifetime sub two years ago. It was �200 but my box was �99. Sounds like a lot to pay in principle.

�200 is a lot but IMHO you get a lot back - except when they screw with the dates on the guide data. Friends dates have changed to 2003 so it's not recording the new episodes on my season pass

Lot of money but the tivo is rather useless without it, and its brilliant when you have the sub. Don't forget murdoch charged �10 a month for years for sky+.
