My Xbox hates me!

This xbox lark is turning out to be a right krypton Factor test :annoyed:

Every step I take I seem to find a really obscure problem!

As an example here are my two latest problems...

Problem1... Colin McRae 4
Problem = Xbox locks after "group intro screen"
Investigation...
Dirty Disc? = no
Bad Burn? = no
IGR switch on? = no
Download files to Xbox and run from HD? = No

Answer (found by pure fluke). I was using S-video connector to connect to my TV (and this completely locks the Xbox on CM4)... Scart works fine! :grr:

Problem2... FTP PC to Xbox
Problem=Cannot connect?
Investigation....
Read 15 tutorials on the net (about setting up an FTP connection)
Even though its not rocket science.. I cannot get a working connection
I set up everything exactly how the tutorial suggest (x15)... still no luck.
Try a setup through router... nope!
Buy a x-over cable & try direct connect.... nope!

Answer= Norton Antivirus 2004 blocks FTP (even when its disabled)

Well, at least you sorted it out yourself and didn't flood forums with posts. Most of the info is out there, you just have to be arsed to find it. You did get a couple of problems I've never heard of though. :nowords:

Strange, I have Antivirus 2004 installed & ftp to xbox no problem, wether it's disabled or not.

I had the same issue with e scart cable when I first got the xbox as well. talk about the last thing you think about.

It was Defo the Norton AV 2004 because the only thing I did between none work and working FTP was to uninstall the Mo Fo???

In contrast, everything I've done on my x b o x has gone without a hitch (hope I havent spoken too soon, it will prob blow up tonight!!).
Sometimes things just go wrong from the start and go on a downward spiral, you start to loose patience and make things even worse. Best to take time out and go back to it when your less pissed with it .
