    Default Golf Problem

My cars due for a service shortly and I have a slight problem with it, just thought i'd ask for a bit of advice.

VW Golf 1.9 GT TDI (110bhp) "T" Plate

Car runs well in general, 2 problems when I accelerate the car seems to pause and hold a few times, also when I am slowing down the car seem to over rev and shake slightly.

Not sure if is relevant but I have a friend who is ok with bearings, wheels ect but not sure on engine or management, he has checked it over and cant see anything wrong with any bearings also replaced all tyres recently, the problems existed prior to this.

    Any pointers appreciated.

Make the mechanic aware of the problems when you book it in for the service, which, i assume is a full service? not an interim service which is only the engine and a quick look over the rest of the vehicle, usually just tolook for quick money by fitting brake pads and disks.
