Mercedes 2000 E320(VDO cluster): EEPROM

I would like to know what EEPROM or EPROM the mercedes 2000 E320 uses? Is it 93C56? 93C66? Or any suggestion? I tried searching for this in my manual and it doesn't exist. All I need to know is the name of the chip and I'll be good on my own. I found an 8 pin chip which I believe is the chip for the mercedes but then it doesn't have a name on it. The lable on it is "L9637D" and below it is a symbol of an ST and after that is "9031". Any help is appreciated.

By the way... how do you guys identify what EEPROM is on any clusters without the need of a manual? :nowords:

Hi

I think I am right in saying that this instrument cluster has a 93c86 Eeprom on it. To get to this chip you will need to strip the dash out, this includes removing the needles. The Eeprom should be located in about the middle of the pc board.
