Ah good, thx for that harryb indeed it does say that on the website. I was going off the e-mail they sent me which, after reading again, is confusing to say the least. Here's what it says:

Immediate action required! Please read this entire notice carefully.

Dear Customer,

Your subscription to Xbox Live Service (12 mths, GB) is scheduled to be automatically renewed to Yearly subscription to XBOX Live on 18 March 2004. Here is a description of the service:

We're glad that you've chosen to challenge your friends in the ultimate high-speed gaming arena, with access to downloads, tournaments, and exclusive features like your unique Gamertag and Friends List across every game. Your subscription to Xbox Live(TM) covers 12 months of Xbox Live(TM) service for GBP39.99, VAT Included. Unless you cancel your subscription before the end of the 12 months, your subscription will automatically renew to a monthly subscription, and you will be billed GBP4.99 per month VAT Included until you cancel it. If you need to cancel your subscription for any reason, please see www.xbox.com/live/accounts.

So it says it's going to renew to yearly subs, then in the next paragraph it says unless I cancel my account (I assume before 18th March) it will renew to monthly subs?!? So when will it change to monthly, at this renewal, or the next. Like I said, very confusing. Btw sorry to hijack the original topic!!
