    Default omega fault

    i have just recently bought a omega 2.5 cdx i now have a fault on my display which reads oil lack i have tried reseting it on the stalk button r and it seems the select button on the stalk does nothing it suppost to select through the display i have checked my engine oil and it is and the level is ok any ideas to get rid of this fault or is it telling me something else is wrong any help please:splease

    Now I know nothing about the omega in particular but...

    A few of the cars I have had over the years have had intermittent problems with the oil level sensors. In fact when I change the oil on my current car then it takes ages for the sensor to register that there is any oil.

    Depending on the type of sensor you have (usually somewhere on the sump) then it will either be open or closed creating a circuit when there is oil in the sump. If the sensor is at fault then disconnecting it or shorting out the connecting wires will temporarily resolve the problem. Worth a go as it's dead easy...
