    Default Graphics Cards

I wanna upgrade my trusty old Geforce 3 Ti200 for something a bit more up to date. Whats a good card out there thats not to expensive. I've always had Nvidia but don't mind going for an ATI. My budget is £150 tops really. What are these new XT's like? I have been looking also at the 9800SE, whats this like? Or what have Nvidia got out right now thats worth a look????

    Cheers

    DJAd?

P.S. Anybody had any exp with the new A07?? I'm gonna get one of them to.

I'm about to get a Saphirre radeon 9600XT Atlantis 256M DDR from komplett £127. I recon it'll be a cracker, i've heard some really promising hype.

dont get the 256 version mate , overdrive feature is not eneabled on this card and there is still a problem in the registry regardinbg this card, so stay away from the sappphire model.

9800se or 9600xt, well 9600xt all the way but if a mod ever came ot to enable the pipes missing to make it a 9800 pro or non pro then id get 9800se but alas there is not one out yet.,

    so 9600xt all the way.

scan and ebuyer have best deals ive noticed

msi fx5700 ultra, got mine from overclockers.uk

    core clock frequency at 544mhz

    mem clock frequency at 1.04ghz

not the fastest card on the block but very close for the money.

nah nah nah, get a 9800 pro from komplett or ebay, around £140 to £160
Radeon 9800 SE is a stinker but the Pro is very fast

and easy, the 256mb version uses TSOP memory so its actually slower than the 128mb version for performance ... not to mention overkill as it only the 9800xt that can use 256mb even barely

Don't know if you still need a gfx card but one of these may be useful for you:

    FX5900 - ~£135 inc. VAT http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=120648&cks=PRL

    FX5700 - ~£100 inc VAT http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=56691

    9600XT - ~£105 inc VAT http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/kl.asp?b...=p&sortOrder=a

    9800 Pro - ~£135 inc VAT http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=122901&cks=PRL

I would also be interested to know what people think is the best gfx card from the above.

9800 pro, the geforce FX 5900 is also ok but it isnt too good at dirext x9 (i.e. dodgy framerates ) and a lot of games are about to start using it... its still alright but radeon 9800 seems to be trusted much more by people... also it isnt the ultra which is a shame
