Had a discussion with a few friends in the pub and it got quite heated, so here it is, what are your views/opinions on this.

Is homosexuality genetic, a result of social conditions or as animals do we posess the tenedency to want sex with either sex but become homo or hetro based on our social conditions?

Personally I go for the 3rd option as I would shag just about owt. But I ain't gay, so no pm's from bi-curious dirty c**ts, ok.

I think its genetic, but people who perhaps may have been borderline may be pushed one way or the other due to social condtions in there life.

so really its options 1 and 2 combined, but I voted 1 cos in general I think people who are really gay were just born with the wrong sexual persuations.

Its like people who like birds with big tits and others like small tits, some like black woman, others blondes, or gingers.

Its all down to your internal desires which are at a base level genetic, a piece of programming to make sure procreation happens.

i think your social life determines what you are, every single thing about the area you grow up in, the people you see/interact with, they all make up you.

so if two twins were born and like all twins had the same genetics in apperance and thoughts etc, then surely you cant just have 1 gay twin, but if i had a twin who was batting for the wrong team he wouldnt get me to sign up. i choose option 2

I dont know of cases wher IDENTICAL twins are one gay, the other straight, I dont know of cases where they are both gay.

but the second part of what you said, if you were a twin and the other was gay, you wouldnt choose to be gay - I think you are missing the point, its not a choice to have gay feelings, it would be something you couldnt help.

I have a brother who's bi-sexual but he's a giver not a reciever which seems to go down better with his friends :oops forget i said that it don't sound right and its not natural and he's the only one in the family oh and he supports west brom :offtopic that says it all

I remember reading a theory a while back that said male homosexuality is caused in the mothers womb (hardly deliberately I would think), so that the mother has a passive boy to help with the rearing of other children. Perhaps 'rearing' is a bad choice of word

Further, male homosexuality seemed to be connected to high levels of the male hormone testosterone while in the womb.

There seemed to be a lot of evidence to back this theory at the time (there would be, wouldn't there), but I didnt really pay a lot of attention at the time, now I have googled but cant find any links to info on this. But I did find lots of reading about this out there, including This Page , scroll halfway down to 'The Role of Hormones'.

So answer 1 seems closest to what i believe, but like the consensus appears to be, live and let live.

i reckon its the indivduals own concious / unconcious state of mind.

The body and mind re-act to pheromones...(its up to the indivudal to decide how to act on them), this is just a small section of the process, the rest is truly down to the individual.
