CueballKrill got it in one - Sage. I run my own business and thats what I have been using for the last month or two, in addition to Microsoft Money 2004 for my personal finances.

The alternatives are Quicken Quickbooks (which a few people use) and some people would say GnuCash for Linux which is alright but is not up to the standards of the other two, it took me months of fiddling with Sage, Quicken and GnuCash to figure out that Sage is the best one. Line 50 is the one small businesses tend to use and handles all the Tax, VAT and invoicing which is handy.

If you are a small business with only a few transactions a week then you could get by with a Spreadsheet, as I did for the first few months but to be honest it quickly gets out of hand and into a muddle.

I'm sure they are others but rememeber this is your businesses accounts so you can't really afford it to go tits up, and if you have an accountant then remember chances are they will want to see your accounts in Sage or Quicken Format.

    Crossman.

I never used Sage myself but i was told it was excellent... But Hxbro is right... An accountant (good one) will do everything for you! Think of the time you will save!
