Anyone tried this? Did it work? Certainly looks the easiest

I tried doing the anti update mod on a 4000t and had no success, I cant vouch for the 4000 ntl though.
Never heard of lifting pins on the 2K model only the 1K series. I always wire from pads 11 on the unpopulated bay next to atmels. This does def work. Double check for shorts and correct pad number using an eye glass and good lighting.
If you intend on using the p1b on the TW stream then flash atmels with ntl or c+w cr2 and not TW 1000. This will give you ppv with funcard and no need to do any update mod to it. If you flash with TW cr2 then the box will try and update to cr3 and then a mod is required to prevent this.

the 4000 mod worked 4 me
roy, best way to stop the 4000t from updating is to when you dont the downgrade bit, take a hammer and give it a crack slap bang between the atmels
this will stop the box from updating.
i may be able to get a pic if ya like just to show you how its done
