Ford 2006 Locked Out

Hi there,

I am new to this forum, its brilliant so informative.

I have one question. I have just fitted a 2006 to my Escort and it wont let me enter the code, which I do have. None of the buttons work. Am I write in thinking that I just have to leave the radio switched on for an hour or so and wait for it to unlock itself?

Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Basically left ignition of vehicle on, stereo on with CODE ---- displayed, after about 1 hour the ---- starting flashing allowing entry of the code and thus a full working stereo again.

Hope this helps others with the same problem.
