Please Help - put me out of misery

I have asked before but no replies for code for clarion PU-9664A original peugeot 306 fitting. All I want to know is can it be decoded. Dealer wants 20 squid which is not worth it for old radioSerial no,s from barcode

I think that one is decoded by jumpers.

If you want to find out for yourself, you have to virtually completely dismantle the radio and you will see a few pairs of half-moon shaped pads near the micro - these are the jumpers.
I did mine a while ago with help from dashman on the shack, and a decod program I found on a car decode forum.

If you are a shack member look for the post I made (My username on there is Pug) the instructions are pretty detailed, and you can just set the jumpers so the code is 1111

Sorry, yes modshack.

It is fairly easy to do once you find the jumpers, and I'll PM you the calculator if I can find it.

PS a tip for some 306 clarions (doesn't always work but worth a try)

take the last 4 numbers of the serial number
e.g

8756

then add 1234 to it
so:

8 7 5 6
1 2 3 4
-----
9 9 8 10

now the buttons only go up to 6 so if your total number is more than 6 then take 6 away from it, if it's less than 6 then leave it alone:

9 9 8 10
3 3 2 4 <-- radio code

get it?

Success

using the calc programme uploaded by Coin-op and the board diagram from below

Identified the ten links and noted the ones which were "closed" that is a "blob" of solder on them. Made a note of the numbers and entered them in to the calc programme (it has an option for clarions as well as other radios). It output the code 2343 which worked.
Arrgh -

just realised that that DangerBoy's method gives the same number - no need to dismantle. Look at my first post - the second of the serial no's ends with 1115. Use Dangerboy's method to get 2349 but take away the 6 and you get 2343.

Is there any chance of a copy of the decode soaftware - I have a Clarion in my 306 and havn`t had sound for the last few weeks after I had to remove the dashboard to replace my heater matrix. I think the dealer is taking the wotsits asking �22 for the code. Any help appreciated.

Some clarions with solder pads (early) desolder all links (make a backup diagram 1st) and will be codeless, others desolder all and code will be 1111 cant remember models.

This method doesn't always work. It's best to make the code 1112 but I forget which links you have to join. I'll post it when I remeber or get to work.

Thanks for all responses. The program that Coin-Op linked me to done the business. For info, all joints desoldered should give 1111 and the 1st joint soldered (depending on how you look at it) should give 1112. Thanks again
