hi m8
if they work same as orange do you can only upgrade your phone which means paying alot more for a newer handset.
if ya looking for a cheaper phone the best bet would be to change network you could then port your number and it only takes 5 days

If you really want to stay with Vodafone, you can temporarily port it to another network as a PAYG number.
Leave it a wek or so, then take out a new Voda contract and port it back.
Complicated but worth it if you need or want to stay with Voda.
I am with Orange and they wanted £100 for an upgrade, when I asked for the PAC (porting access code) for my number they dropped the £100 upgrade charge.
I phoned voda today to see how much a nokia 6600 upgrade would be the bloke on the phone said it would cost £220.00 :annoyed: i told him i had been with them for over 3years He explained that i was only spending £50 amonth thats why the phone is that expensive :grr:

Phone again and ask for the PAC and see if they change their mind :whistle
The first time I phoned they tried the same routine on me

I phoned orange, asked for a pac, they asked why I said I've got a better contract already, I hung up, the pac arrived via txt a few secs later.
Now my current problem, orange have released the number, o2 haven't picked it up yet so nobody can contact me via mobile at the mo (which is kind of a problem as I work from home) and I don't want to give out the o2 number currently assigned to the sim to loads of people
Sometimes asking for your PAC code will do the trick when looking for a good deal on upgrades. We do it all the time at the shop. :whistle
If they think they're going to lose a customer they will offer a better deal.
I just rang up singlepoint and asked for the PAC, I was forwarded to 'Matthew Fynn' who tried to keep me with Singlepoint. I said I didn't want to stay because of their appalling customer service. After listenening to his attempted negotiation I asked for the PAC codes. He claimed I had to write them a letter and request it. I said that I'd never had to do it before and it was exactly the poor customer service I was talking about. I rang back 5 minutes later and was told I would be issued the pac codes via post but could ring back in 2 days to get them. Shows what lying ****ers they are. btw is their any legislation by oftel on this, I think there is?
