    hi, when you say reslodered a few joints, i presume you meant the buttons(they always come unsoldered and although can go on eitherway only work one way round.)we repair a lot of these,and you should be able to check with a meter.

    The battery terminals had come adrift, resoldered them.
    Somehow some way after a lot of messing and furkling i've managed to get it working again, No idea what did it in the end though, tried so many things, but who cares it's sorted.
