vaio random shutdown while playing games

i have a sony vaio laptop GRV670.
when i play games on zone.com (which requires macromedia flash), it randomly shuts down - i started having this problem for about 3 weeks since i started playing some of the games on-line
i've been browsing and searching the Internet to find out how i can troubleshoot this problem, but haven't had a luck to find one.

would any of you have any idea how i can solve this problem? i kam sure there are more people who have similar problems.
would really appreciate your advise (including referral to previous threads etc.)

Very easy, buy a ThinkPad ;-) sorry had to say it as I'm employed by HAL.

OK, well almost seems like an overheating issue? bad thing is Sony only guarantee operation of the software that comes with the computer. To their "luck", none of their software is particularly demanding on the video card. On the other hand it could be a fault in the system.

what surface are you using the laptop on?
I used to use my laptop for msn when i was in my bed and it would overheat like crazy because it was getting warm from my covers lol

Many thanks for your kind advise... Sorry for the delayed response. I haven't been able to log in for awhile. The problem is getting even serious...
Wrote to Sony Customer Support, the guy told me to uninstall everything then just use sony periferrals to see if the problem persists. ....
Also quickly checked VaioVillage and found some useful tips.
