Hey there... Can you verify that this does work for a spv e200 network lock? Im posting from the states and wanted to try and get one over here...Originally Posted by crazycraigy

What "unlock" are you going for?, if you mean sim-unlock, im afraid there isnt a program currently publicly available for the e200. The only way is to ring your network and get a PUK code.
However it is possible to software unlock it removing the software signing allowing you to run any unsigned application on the phone (pretty pointless tho as most apps work anyway due to the new relaxed policy).
[edit] just noticed why you wanted it unlocking, im afraid you'll have to ring orange and get a PUK code or wait for a program. The original SPV is easy, but the e200 isnt yet sorted

If you need any other help ive had every phone in the spv range since launch date so i'm pretty experienced.

How does getting a puk code allow you to use any sim card?
The PUK code allows you to transfer your phone number to another network. Its got nothing to do with the Sim Locks.

I don't know how a PUK code will unlock the fone to all networks though.
What an interesting thread, goes from bad to worsebut termy summed it up correctly. And as foxy11 said there is definately no program to unlock this phone yet.
apologies, i was at work with a massive headache and said PUK by mistake
Dont I feel like an idiot, you can ring orange to get your e200 unlocked however. Though it'll cost you at least the rest of your contract in advance (if you have one). The only other option is buying a handset that is already unlocked

Does that apply to the e200 though? My experience of the mobile phone scene is that if it can be done by anyone it can be done by everyone ie if Orange could unlock it for you somebody else could. Since nobody on the internet claims to be able to unlock it are you sure orange would?
Apparently it can now be unlocked, one company is selling the software but want about 700 euros for it, has anyone got any more news?
orange would indeed, or at least should do, im not sure about the rules these days but you can, if out of contract, request an unlock code which orange will generate from your IMEI most likely and give you to enter into your handset. As i said you'd have to be out of your 12month contract or pay off the rest.
You may also get charged a fee (used to be around £20).
As for the unlocking theodotcom, i'd be vary wary about paying for anything like that, could be a scam, could be mislabeled or indeed could be real, but 700euros?!?
damn, sorry for double post forgot to add and cant edit because im out of the time limit-
Lots of people are working on a solution but i wouldnt expect anything until at least the middle of march (or whenever the e200 update is released) as they would simply patch/maybe have already patched any workarounds/solutions in the new update.
Hi,
Just had my phone unlocked my a local shop (The Phone Doctor/Hospital) there based in the North West.
Not had a chance to check it yet so I'll get back to you later.
If you've registered the phone with Orange then they will unlock it for £20.
How much did you pay and has it worked?
One guy has written an unlock log which u can do from home, cost £20 over the web, he emails u the log and the software is on his site, i unlocked mine from him, highly recommended, if anyone wants the link ill dig it up![]()
