Opening files from location in IE6

It just doesnt seem to work. It appears to download whatever file I try to get but the program associated with the extension can't find it in the temporary internet folder location.

It happens on both of my computers and is annoying to say the least.

It saves files fine but doesn't open them

I have a problem when i open zips/rars directly from here - it d/loads the file and then opens winrar, but the archive is empty. if i save a file it saves fine (also using ie6)

it only seems to be on df that i have this problem. strange

try saving the program to your desktop or somewhere different , could it be something to do with a firewall / anti virus program you have installed ?

I can save to anywhere fine. Its just when I choose the "open" box on the IE6 download dialogue box, rather than saving.

    Hi, things to try out.

-Try deleting temporary internet files and cookies.
    -Run rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 C:\windows\inf\ie.inf
-My Computer, on the View menu, click Folder Options, on the File Types tab, click the appropriate file type in the Registered File Types box, click Edit, click to select the Confirm Open After Download check box.

    All the best
