Well are you?
I am, sometimes more than other, but we all have our bad days.
If you are no happy what are you doing about it.

Well I strongly belive you shouldn't do a job you dont enjoy, I recently quit as a manager at my other job basically because I wasn't enjoying it any more which made me unhappy, so I dont see the point of being in a job if you dont enjoy....

It seems now that convincingly bullshitting the customer is the No. 1 skill required rather than actually solving their problems!
Any way I've had enough of it - SO, last week I quit --- What a F*&%ing weight lifted off my shoulders. Cant wait till my last day in this SH1TTY industry - I'm Lucky that I got the chance of a complete career change just at the right timeAND for MORE money-- Woohoo - RESULT.

DONUTS :) ------ Is there anything they can't do ??
I work in a team that is a mix of contractor's and permie's. I get on with everyone but they all seem hell-bent on back stabbing eachother for the slightest reason. I learn something new everyday and most of the people I go to meetings with have hot pa's!! :thumbs
I teach English..... But being English and teaching English is more difficult then it seems.... It's not my English ability that is holding me back.... it’s the fact that I am not ****ing American. Japanese schools prefer the American accent. Another problem is that most of the interviews I go to are conducted by Americans.... No room for an English man here... ho ho ho. I had another interview blow out this afternoon.... oh well. Its nice being looked after by your girlfriend.... but I don't want it to be a permanent thing especially when she works 100 times harder than I do.
My dad thinks I should come home and learn a trade.... Am told Gas fitters earn 500 Quid a week now days..... That is 500 Quid more than what I am earning at the moment.... hey and everyone needs trade workers!
But I’m now in the position where it’s difficult to leave… Who needs women huh?
I learnt my trade and then moved into my current career so I have something to fall back on. Plumber's\Gas Fitter's\Sparkie's are all on big bunce over here at the minute...it takes years to learn a trade though m8. Took me 4 years to be fully qualified in my trade.
My lady is wanting to do that for a year after she graduates, do you get a decent amount to live on? are ther plenty of jobs o is it difficult getting and maintaining work?
only asking as she wants to do this, never known anyone who does it? Are they funny about english women as well as english men?
Are there any agencies that specialise in english workers there?? like i am a CAD technician but actually am registered with BIAT and i know my qual is recognised out there, but do nto have the first clue on how to get out there and working.
Cheers.....Q
Thanks for the info Lee...
Living and working in Japan is an experience... But if you’re looking to impress your future boss or get some working experience... I wouldn't bother. The only job we are good for over here is Teaching Japanese English. Not to say there aren’t any other jobs... but the pay for those jobs are so low you'd be better working in a sweet shop. Women especially Gaijin women (foreign) are pretty much shunned by westerns in Japan... I mean like the plague... So if your bird does come over here... don’t worry about her finding a new boyfriend.... hahaha no Yank/Brit/Auz etc will touch her... Even the Japanese men are far too shy to approach a western woman. She could here in Japan... 250,000 Yen is standard pay... it’s a lot of money for one person. Or she could fall into the trap of being a hostess.... really great money... but being treated like a whore from 8pm till 3am every night by fifty Japanese perverts isn't my idea of a good time... you have to really earn your money....
If you’re trying to find a job here... You have to look at something you can offer that Japanese people can't.... You can operate CAD... my girlfriend is the ****ing bollocks at CAD her English is better than mine and she still can't find a decent Job. Japanese companies want to pay her shit money and abuse her.... 9-6 plus over time plus weekends... It is a joke. She could teach English but because she isn’t English she would get paid a quarter of what I earn… Japanese want to be taught by token foreigners.
If I was to give my honest opinion... I'd have to say that Japan is a great place for a holiday or to take some time out of normal life.... I really think I would have left by now if it wasn't for my girlfriend....
But people have different experiences…. If you’re not working for a major company doing something other than teaching…. Your wasting your time and future prospects… old teachers are not wanted… they want fresh graduates of the banana boat… if you’ve been here to long they can’t make you into a teaching drone. The more dependent you are on the company the less chance there is of you ****ing off and dropping them in the shit.
To sum it all up…. I’m 23 I have no career direction in my life, I am lazy and comfortable…. I should be hungry for work…. But the spark isn’t there….. hahahaha shit I am sad….. But hey there is a positive side!!! You get 100mb fiber optic lines here I can download a entire film in less than 15 minutes…. Woop!
sorry for the many typo's its 3am.... i am too sleepy to care!
one more thing... I might change my mind in the morning when i wake up.... i haven't been feeling too well the past few days.... Its funny how being sick really puts a positive spin on things![]()
I'm coming to stay with you in the summer... :thumbsOriginally Posted by CueballKrill
