If you have imobilised the airbags by disconnecting them, then you will have to fit resistors to all the connectors so that your airbag control unit thinks they are still there. Unfortunately i do not know the value of these. sorry. An airbag specialist may tell you ?

Whatever you do though...DONT TEST THE AIRBAG OR SEAT TENTIONERS WITH A MULTIMETER. It WILL set them off!!

try taking it to a garage to get checked out it normely only costs around £30 and they will reset it

cheap way is take the bulb out (not recommended as they are there for a reason)

There will most likely be a pause in between the flashes. Count the number of flashes between the pauses.

and check it this page for a bit more info on ford airbags....

    http://www.fixafordcar.co.uk/air_bags.htm

Mine still flashes 4 times and i've tried everything (well, nearly) but I've got used to it now and it doesn't bother me

If it flashes 4 times you could indeed remove the seat side trims and short the wires from the floor area across , this would stop this erretic behaviour of the airbag light.
Not very good from an aspect of safety , but it does extinguish the light.
