NEwsgroups Incomplete - Blueyonder

hey guys anybody here on Blueyonder Broadband?

I used to get great downloads from the newsgroups and basically NO incompletes, as of the last month EVERYTHING is incomplete

yeah, they've been having a lot of problems since around christmas. Basically it's due to a huge increase in users and the hardware can't handle it. They're gonna move the news servers to Knowsley towards the end of this month (no official date) this will include various hardware modifications/upgrades so things should improve.

For the mean time i recommend signing up to Astraweb news and use a program called Newspro. Set it to prioritize the two BY servers and then any parts it can't get to go to the Astraweb or whatever. Most of the files on BY are alomst complete but they're just missing the odd bit.
I tried setting this up with Newsbin pro but found that it wants to download the whole file whether it be 4 or 50 MBs from the same server. (it was an old build so things might have changed now).
