    Default Windows ME Network Problem

I was wondering if anyone can help me, i seem to have this computer system which is running Windows ME. I am trying to access a shared printer on the network but it requires a USERNAME and PASSWORD. I know what my user name and password is however i only get prompted for my PASSWORD.
I have Microsoft Network installed, TCP/IP and IPX also threw in NEtBeui. When logging into the computer when it boots up my username and password is EXACTLY the same as the one needed to log into the printer.
I DO NOT have auto login enabled, does anyone know how to get around this problem?

    Cheers

i heard about a program you can get for fixing windows me problems, think its called "windows 98" or something.

    i have had similar problems.

    check things like capslocks

check that you are loggin in as same username to windows me as you are for the printer on the win2k machine(i assume the pc with printer is win2k since it is the only one that i have seen with this problem, win nt might be same tho)

check that the printer is definitly shared - i seriously spent about a week fiddling with a printer after reinstalling windows on my bros pc wondering who nobody could print to it, and after changing cables etc. i finally noticed it was the stupid windows sharing. i was forced to go and tell everyone i know about that to ensure i got a suitable quantity of slaps.

if it still wont work reinstall the printer pc, since newer versions of windows sometimes get tied up in knots with user accounts on home pcs
