xbox help

hi guys,

i bought 2 faulty xboxs off a mate,
theres no harddrives in them, but on power i get green and orange flashing,

anyone know what this means?

also if i install a enigma chip can i just buy another hardrive and fit straight in for it to work ?

ORANGE/GREEN Flashing:
No AUDIO/VIDEO (A/V) pack

although it probably means that there isn't a harddrive in it

Enigma chips dont support bigger Harddrives so you can fit a small one - say 20gb and format it as if it was a retail drive (8gb) using slayers disk - this should be OK, personally I would touch engima chips - 29 wires !! and no way to play Xbox Live or put a bigger HDD in - no thanks.

If you going to fix these busted Xboxs - you really need a modded one that works to format and build your drives in for testing or for unlocking retails drives if you use the enigma chips.

well i have a old 500 meg hardrive here that i want to just test the xbox with,

how do i format it to work in the xbox ???

nah it wont, u need atleast an 8 gig

get a couple of applex chips to put in em, theyre nice n cheap and do the biz

ok i have a 40 gig im useing on my pc at the moment,

i guess i can use that ok,

however will i need to format the drive ?

also how do u do it to work in the xbox, ie what files?

sorry im new to this xbox scene

Get you hands on slayer install disk (from "ahem" the usual places) and probably google. yes to the formating of the hd although you don't need to do it, when it's in the xbox and slayers it doing it's thing this will format and partition it for you, also get yourself a xecuter or similar half a dozen wires easy install and can do far more things with it when used with other programs and utils.
When burning slayer used good quality media, ritek dvd or try quality virgin(not written on before) cdrw's the drive makes a big differnce but thats another thread.

although i do like my Chameleon mods.. all nice and cheap and work great.. no need to spend all that cash on a Xecutor2.3 when they all use the same bios anyway

also there is a "HDD tutorial" at the top of this page :whistle
