Was never a penalty, before kick off they said he hadn't ref'd too many top flight game's. I think he gave in to the crowd and player persistance and gave it...

T Freak - some bloke on the phone-ins mentioned Melchiot harassing the ref - and thought he got away with it as Durkin had seen a bad foul in the lead up - and not done anything about it
