Help with chipped xbox

Help
I chipped a mate's xbox(1.5 i think) before christmas with a apple x chip,
i wired the chip so it's always on,i had no problems it booted all games fine!
But in the last week you get the message "contact service centre" with the flashing light on the front!
I opened it up,all looked fine but i changed the chip to be sure but still the same,ive tryed wiring the chip by the instuctions but still not joy.

any ideas? or have i screwed it up?

whats the error code its displaying?

just looking this is "HDD parameters (PIO/DMA/or size {debug}, certain size minimum is required for debug)"

do you think that the hard drives had it? and it might not be my soldering after all?

You could try installing evo-x and then use the evo-x dash.
as i had a xbox bought to me a while ago displaying the same message and this cured it.

i used evo-x ver 2.5 and used the utilities section to rectifie the problem.
give it a go. you've got nothing to lose. (should still boot off a evo-x dvdr/cd)

whatever the problem is..
if you put a dvd in the dvd drive then switch the xbox off and then back on it boots to the dvd drive so you can still do something with it

get evox on a dvd then ftp to it and see if the dash on C drive is ****ed or something.. cheers

Thanks for all everybodys help,it turned out it was the harddrive that was duff
ive changed that now,and it's sweet
well apart from my mate losing his need for speed saves!

i did that once, when i was setting up evox on a newly chipped box and forgot to backup the saves... boy was he mad lol.

I use xbox saves manager now nice interface and really quick to back them up

Just thought i'd join in and tell you I got my xbox just after xmas and got it hacked, So it is the same as chipped but it is still under warranty. The xbox only cost me £80 and the hack didnt cost a penny, did it myself. Now my xbox plays EVERYTHING except for copied music CD's, any ideas guys..???

most drives dont read cdr WELL....stick to dvd or ftp your mp3z to hdd play em with your xb media player
