    Default Video upscalers?

I have a Series 6 Panasonic 42" plasma and am thinking of getting a video upscaler.

Has anyone actually used one of these with Sky broadcasts or even DVDs? The only reviews out there are audiophile (cinemaphile?!) people who think that to watch tv properly you need to be suspended in zero g and wear special sound absorbing underpants. :|

I just want a normal person to say "yes it makes a world of difference" or "no - save your money for the zero g lessons"

Not quite. They use complex algorithms to improve the output not just double the lines. These are big business in the US with people spending THOUSANDS on upscalers for their HDTVs.

Check out http://av-sales.co.uk/html/iscan_hd.html for more info on them

maybe take a search on google for a program called dscaler.
This does what your looking for through software. stick a tv card in your pc, run the soft and you're off.

you'll need a good composite out card mind you.
