Odd Displaying of Text

Just noticed this the last few days, but when i edit a filename or am installing a program the text seems to not display fully...

like the "Next" button on a game install shows as Nex or "Finish" as Finis.. and filenames on my desktop, if i edit them it doesnt show it all at once - it's like everything is word wrapping

Any idea how to get rid of it.. it kinda sucks

Is your Radeon 8500 overclocked or have you recently upped the speeds on it. Normally a sign you've overcloked too far or it's on it's way out.

I dont overclock any of my stuff.. and its only been used for the last 2 or 3 weeks

In that case it must be a Windows problem. Have a play around with your Colour Quality, DPI and Advanced Settings in Display Properties. Are you using up to date drivers?

yep its all up to date i even updated my monitor driver to try and fix it ..

confusing me as it has just started happening for no good reason

*-- the text is there if i scroll down but it doesnt show unless i do it

also, when i type a filename in you only see one character at a time when i type it like say i typed computer.txt

in the filename box below the icon i'll just see "c" then "o" then "m" etc...

happening on installers too.. and i just got a radeon 9800 today so its definitely not the graphics card

yeah i got another weird thing when i installed the new drivers though now i get THIS

any help fellas, and i know it may be a windows problem but i cant find anywhere to change it

you could try putting the theme as windows classic and see if that solves prob - or even the windows xp default. remember to save your old one so you can go back to it easily!

Not sure if It applies to you but I have seen this happen to my brothers pc,
turned out his monitor was on the way out.
His monitor was only a few months old too!, took it back to the shop and got it replaced. :thumbs
