Earth for windows 3.11 In Virtual earth are the countries still disproportionate to everything else? North America being the center of the universe and all.
umm, they make it sound as if its a revolution. Any bugger can create such a thing with adequate programming knowledge. Seriously though, they make it sound as if the yanks are god themselves

remember when a simulated plane flying programme was used to train people to fly planes, and then have them flown into the world trade centre..
couldn't this be used in a similar fashion

Yea wud b interesting to no m8
innit anyone can roam the Earth but not anyone can fly a plane! come on flumperino..
what i mean is, if some nasty people could get hold of a programme like that, couldn't they use it to plan and improve military strikes without getting their hands dirty - using differing types of scenarios to obtain maximum carnage etc etc??

perhaps but flying simulations were commerically available, from the sounds of things this wont be, itll be purely intended for military use and presumably only at classified levels. admittedly 10/15 years down the line it might be more available but at the moment its probably not a problem

I see what you mean flump but it's not like the flight simulator that teaches you technical controls.. It just maps the world in a 3d manner. Maps have been available of the world and its cities for decades so I can't see how this will differ..
fair point mate - all i'm thinking is that things that shouldn't ever enter the public domain often have a habit of making their way there anywayzOriginally Posted by maverick 15

No doubt why the US is building such a program!Originally Posted by flumperino

Imagine the invasion of Afganistan, run through this prog with every conceivable outcome looked into.......it would have saved them a lot of lives and money, and they might have accually caught `ole Osama!!

i think flumps point was that although there would be benefits associated with its use potentially the 'nasty people' could run it through to discover the scenario that would cause most destruction/ damage etc because they would know by using the simulation what would be hardest to deal with

Perhaps its cos the yanks are trigger happy.Originally Posted by GhettoMoose

Compare this to the yank approach, where they all want to go and play with their "TOYs".
They probably actually look forward to it, did you see the television footage of the yanks firing a rocket launcher at a target and when it hit they were all "Whooping" and High Fiving and cheering.
