    Default Is this "safe"

I have a P4 1.MHz, 512M RD-RAM 400 FSB in an ABIT TH7-II RAID mobo. I have successfully overclocked the P4 to 1955MHz but this forces the memory to run at 460MHz. I achieved this by leaving the multiplier at 17 (locked anyway) and altering the bus speed from 100 to 115MHz. As the memory runs at bus * 4 that means the memory runs at 460 (115*4).
The system is stable, I just wanted to know if you think that it is pushing the memory too far?
There is no additional cooling, CPU temp is 40 - 45 deg. Cannot measure memory temp.

    Thanks.

Nice overclock mate  have you got ram coolers? Maybe get them just to be on the safe side. Sounds as tho your ram is managing well though, what brand you got?

I think they are Samsung. Built this PC nearly 2 years ago now. I have been very pleased with it. Very stable. I would recommend another ABIT mobo to anyone.

It's a little "old in the tooth" now. Hence me trying to O/C.

    No RAM coolers....yet!

I've just read my original post, looks like I deleted my CPU speed. It is a P4 1.7Mhz.... DOH.....

If the system is stable (I presume you've checked this using Prime95 or Memtest), then I wouldn't worry, it's a relatively small overclock on the memory.
