Intel petium 4 'A' has a 400mhz FSB So i'm guessing the highest you can go is the highest that processor goes.
The highest speed that chip goes to is 2.6ghz
it's a shuttle motherboard, right?
well, the FSB is limited to 400 but you should be ok up to any speed, most motherboards only have an issue with speeds when they are based on new cpu lines
like the athlon xp's when some mobos couldnt support barton cpus
cheers :tongue :tongue
yes it is a shuttle motherboard :|
Good luck with it, you making a little SFF pc ?
im going to get a processor tomorrow which one would you recommend for thi board
The highest speed you can get for your money. Make sure your heatsink and fan will support your CPU.

I bought an Intel Celeron 2.6 . I am having problems with the board though. When I shut it down it wont reboot on first attempt only on 2nd. Once it is running, after around 20 mins the Windows XP just freezes and I cant do anything. I have tried DDR ram both speeds 2100 & 2700 and Also SDRAM. All three work in my other system fine. The fan is working fine. the case is ATX case with 350 power supply, I'm out of options to try. Anyone have any suggestions. Would be greatly appreciated.
Make sure the H/S/F are connected properly to the cpu. I had the Celeron 400 and had similar problems, and it turned out to be the H/S/F.
