Can anyone recommend a tool for backing up cds to .wav format (one wav file per track). There seems to be so many tools available I don't know which one would do the job best in a resonably quick amount of time.
cheers

use musicmatch m8
you can rip into most formats, it will also play all your files and let you organise them into a libary
Just to let you know you would be better using MP3 less space taken up

try searching for neoaudio on www.download.com ive used it before and you can rip to mp3 and wav
The reason I'm using wav format is I've got a 40gig creative zen xtra and I don't have enough cds to fill it with mp3s so I may as leave them uncompressed ....... better quality.

or you leave them as *.mp3 and just download a load as well. If you put your mind to it 40Gb wouldnt take all that long.
yes i have a 40gb ipod and have maged to fill it with mp3 took me about a month to download most in my spare time

erm doesnt windows media player copy your cds to .wav format?
Indeed it does ........ but what error checking does it use??? I wanted a ripper that ensured the rip was sucessful and wasn't affected by the likes of small scratches.
