    can i power up my stereo just on a car battery!!!please help

    ok!ok! Right here comes the picture!!!keep looking!!!in a house in a galaxy far far away there is 1 battery and 1 clarion stereo out of a peugeot 306(i know ugly picture!!)how can i get it powered up does anyone know which wire does what!!!i already know the battery to stereo theory THANK U PLEASE!!!

    i think u can use any 12volt battery or one of those walkman adapter things cos my mate wrote off his car and took the radio out and to get the CD that was in there out we had to power it up. just tape a bit of wire to the adapter.

    Yes you can. In one of the two connector sections you have a black wire, a red and a blue (maybe with a stripe). Connect the black to the negative and the other two to the positive. Leave the yellow wire alone.

    If I remember correctly, red and black obvious - but blue usually means power antenna, I'm sure the yellow wire is battery backup (which needs 12V on it too).
    But different manufacturers colour code their connectors differently.


    O O O O-12V (RED +)

    O O O O-GND (BLACK -)
    .../\
    MEM BACKUP (12V USUALLY YELLOW)
