help please with asus router

i have just got hold of a dsl 4 port wireless router 2nd hand

no manual.. cant seem to find one on web cos its discontiued :nowords:

tried the reset button on back & hooked up using cat5.. i found it & can get t the admin setup screen in IE but.. 1st thing it asks for it the damn admin password

tried the usual default types with no luck... anyone any idea.. i well screwed now :coffee:

damn thing... im wondering if the reset is actually restting the password to defualt... would have thought it would.

Not necessarily.

Pushing & holding the reset button for 5 secs on certain routers changes the password to the serial number.
Once you are in, you then have to manually reset the password again.

that didnt seem to work either

dont know what i should be using as username but tired a few & blank... no good.

right!.. next challenge!!!

i have configured it all up.. wired/wireless router bits work fine but the modem wont play at all!

The test light is constanly on & the status light flashed all the time & admin says it is activating but gets nowhere.

I found parts of the manual online & its says that if the test light doesnt go off after a reset there maybe a problem with the modem.. but the guy i got it off 'says' it worked fine.

So... wtf it wrong with this shoe box!
